In a collaborative effort the students of the SOFT program and the UH bee team are gearing to create a teaching apiary at the Magoon Research Station located at the heart of Manoa. The goal of the program is to provide an easily accessible location where students and the community at large can learn more about the importance of bees in agriculture and the current threats to bee health in Hawaii. The teaching hives will be managed by the students under the supervision of the UH Honeybee Project staff.

We are beginning to build and decorate the boxes that will house the bees...please take a look at what we have so far and stay tuned for workshop availability during the Fall 2012!
